Thank you for planning this. I think the most important of the guidelines is that the pdf (or abstract as google calls it) is accessible to robots.
I could not verify this, but it would seem that the google bot categorically avoids the pdf's hosted by mendeley. Entries on mendeley websites are excluded from indexing because it is required to click some buttons to get to the pdf. BibBase could circumvent this!
