Bibbase just stopped working for me
I have been using bibbase for many years and a day ago or so, I noticed my publication page is not working anymore. I did not update my publications recently and after the last update I checked and everything was normal. Any help would be appreciated.
This is where my publications were supposed to be:
https://sites.ualberta.ca/~szepesva/pubs.html
Thanks,
Csaba

This seems to be due to a change at your department. Your page uses: https://bibbase.org/show?bib=https://www.ualberta.ca/~szepesva/papers/p2.bib&jsonp=1&group0=year&theme=bullets&css=https://www.ualberta.ca/~szepesva/jemdoc.css
but the link to that bib file should now be https://sites.ualberta.ca/~szepesva/papers/p2.bib
You can see it working when manually testing with that link (with jsonp=1 removed so it renders fine when not embedded):
https://bibbase.org/show?bib=https%3A%2F%2Fsites.ualberta.ca/~szepesva/papers/p2.bib&group0=year&theme=bullets&css=https%3A%2F%2Fsites.ualberta.ca/~szepesva/jemdoc.css
This problem has recurred, but my page now uses the sites.ualberta.ca URL recommended in your earlier response:
https://sites.ualberta.ca/~szepesva/papers/p2.bib
The file is publicly accessible and contains my new 2026 entries. However, BibBase continues to serve an older cached version. When I add
nocache=1, BibBase returns “Error retrieving bibtex file” and “No data.”Could you please check why the BibBase server cannot currently retrieve this URL and clear or refresh its cached copy?
Your help would be much appreciated.
Hi Csaba,
This turns out to be an issue with expired CA certificates. The server error reports: "SSL certificate problem: unable to get local issuer certificate". I'm working on updating the CA chain and will let you know when fixed.
Thanks for reporting this.
OK, this is fixed now. Thanks again!
Thanks!
